My week in New York started at One World Trade Centre Observatory looking down on the iconic view of Manhattan from the 102nd floor. Every time I visit this wonderful city I am still enthralled by all it has to offer.
Then on to Fifth Avenue to seek out the latest trends at Henri Bendel and saving time to look at the sumptuous jewels and engagement rings at world-famous Harry Winston – what bride wouldn't want to be spoiled here!!
No trip to New York is complete without a shopping visit to Bergdorf Goodman and then down the street to the latest dining space in Saks Fifth Avenue. for a quick lunch.
And then, to end a perfect day, Tiffany's - where it all started on Fifth Avenue - and now displaying their magnificent world famous diamond for all to see. This incredible gem was discovered in South Africa in 1877 and has presided over the Fifth Avenue store since it opened in 1940. At an incredible 287.42 carats in the rough, it was cut into a cushion-shape brillant weighing 128.54 carats!!
In 2012 the stone was reset in a specatacular necklace which totals over 100 carats of white diamonds. Simply breathtaking.
